Pakistan International Airlines Pet Policy

When it comes to traveling with your furry friends, it's important to know the pet policy of the airline you are flying with. Here is everything you need to know about traveling with pets on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Pet Reservation Info: Before you plan your trip, it is essential to contact PIA directly to pre-approve your pet for travel. You can reach them via telephone at (844) 682-5260. They will provide you with all the necessary information and requirements for traveling with your pet.

Pets in Passenger Cabin: Unfortunately, PIA does not allow pets to travel in the cabin with their owners. Therefore, your furry friends will have to travel in a different part of the aircraft.

Guidance, Tips, & info on Airlines and Airports

Pets as Checked Baggage: If your pet meets the necessary requirements set by PIA, they can travel as checked baggage. It is important to transport them in an appropriate carrier that is suitable for their size. Additionally, make sure to have all the required documents for the countries of departure and arrival. It's important to note that the cost of placing animals in the hold is not included in your permitted luggage amount. Animals are charged as excess baggage. The fee for animals traveling from Pakistan to the USA is $110, and for other destinations, it ranges between $5-35.

Pets in Cargo Hold: In case your pet does not meet the requirements to travel as checked baggage, PIA offers the option to transport them as cargo. For more information on this, you can contact the Cargo Team at 0092-2111-1786-786.

Allowed Weights & Dimensions: If your pet is traveling as checked baggage, the carrier must not exceed the dimensions of 12” X 18” X 16” (30 cm x 46 cm x 40 cm). It's important to ensure that your pet's carrier meets these requirements to avoid any issues during your journey.

Restrictions & Limitations: It's important to note that pets flying to the UK are only accepted as cargo and not as checked baggage. If you are planning to travel to the UK with your pet, make sure to contact PIA for more information on the specific requirements and procedures.

Keep in mind that air carriers can change these policies at any time, so you should always check directly with the airline you are traveling on, before you book, for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
