If you want to bring more than the checked baggage allowance stated below - and you are not traveling from Japan - you can pre-purchase, 7 day up to 3 hours prior to scheduled departure, an additional baggage allowance at a lower rate by visiting Qantas 'Manage Your Booking' website & using your credit card or by redeeming Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Carry-on Baggage Rules & Fees

Carry-on bag must fit under seat in front of you or in the overhead bin. Rules apply to adult & child fares (for infants you can carry onflight food & diapers). Carry-on rules by countries vary. Allowed carry-on bags (a) within Australia (except Dash 8 & to/fr Olympic Dam) for all classes: two bags 105cm/41in or one bag 105cm/41in plus one bag 185cm/73in, a foldable garment bag or a 115cm/45in bag - each piece up to 7kg/15lb. Dash 8 services & Olympic Dam: each allow one bag 105cm/41in (height, depth & length), Dash 8 with a 7kg/15lb total and Olympic with a 4kg/9lb total. (b) All international destinations: Economy one bag 115cm/45in or a 185cm/73in foldable garment bag; up to 7kg/15lb. First, Business & Premium Economy two bags 115cm/45i or one bag 115cm/45in and one foldable garment bag uup to 185cm/73in.
