Saudia Airlines Partnerships & Alliances
Saudia Airlines, also known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance. This is a significant global aviation alliance that encompasses 19 different airlines from around the world. Saudia Airlines officially joined the SkyTeam Alliance on May 29, 2012. The membership of the airline in this global alliance allows its passengers to enjoy the benefits of an expansive worldwide network. Passengers on Saudia Airlines have the advantage of seamless connections, earning and redeeming miles on all SkyTeam member airlines, and the ability to access more than 750 lounges worldwide.
In addition to the alliance membership, Saudia Airlines has formed a series of codeshare agreements with other airlines. These codeshare agreements broaden the reach of Saudia Airlines by allowing it to sell tickets on flights operated by its partner airlines. Some of Saudia's codeshare partners include Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, and Korean Air, among others. Through these agreements, Saudia is able to offer its passengers more flexibility and convenience, by providing a wider array of destinations and flight schedules.
Apart from alliances and codeshare agreements, Saudia Airlines has also entered into other types of partnerships. A notable one is its strategic partnership with Etihad Airways, which includes a codeshare agreement but goes beyond this to encompass a wide range of cooperative activities. This includes sharing best practices in safety and security, operations, and purchasing. It also provides for reciprocal 'earn and burn' on their loyalty programs, enhancing the value for frequent flyers of both airlines. Additionally, Saudia has a joint venture agreement with Air France-KLM, a partnership aimed at strengthening the airline's competitiveness in the European market.
