Terminal 3 is one of the largest terminals at ORD. It serves both domestic and international flights, and currently has 75 gates spanning 4 concourses. For more details on the layout, visit the terminal map page.
Layout and Access
Terminal 3 at Chicago O'Hare consists of four concourses: G, H, K, and L. Each concourse offers a variety of gates and amenities to cater to the needs of travelers. The terminal is connected to the rest of the airport by the Airport Transit System (ATS), which provides seamless access to other terminals, parking areas, and public transportation options.

Airlines Serving Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is primarily used by American Airlines and its Oneworld partners. In addition to American Airlines, other airlines operating from Terminal 3 include Alaska Airlines, Iberia, Japan Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Vueling Airlines. - Admirals Club: Located in Concourse H (near Gate H6) and Concourse L (near Gate L1). These lounges provide complimentary Wi-Fi, snacks, beverages, and access to conference rooms and workstations. Eligible passengers can enjoy a peaceful retreat while waiting for their flights.
- Flagship Lounge: Located in Concourse K (near Gate K19). This lounge offers an elevated experience with premium food and beverage options, shower suites, and a quiet environment for relaxation and work.
Family Facilities
Traveling with children is made easier with family-friendly facilities in Terminal 3. There are children's play areas located near the gates, family restrooms equipped with baby changing stations, and dedicated baby care rooms. Additionally, Mamava lactation pods are available for nursing mothers at the following locations:

Transportation to Other Terminals
Connecting between domestic Terminals 1, 2, and 3 is easy as you do not need to leave the secured side. Simply follow the overhead signage to guide you between all domestic terminals. For transfers between Terminal 5 and Terminals 1, 2, and 3, you can use the Airport Transit System (ATS).
ATS
Look for signs indicating the Transit System when locating the ATS. This system provides seamless transfers between Terminal 5 and the other terminals.
Terminal Transfer Bus (TTB)
While Terminals 1, 2, and 3 have pedestrian connections on the secure side of the airport, Terminal 5 does not. The Terminal Transfer Bus runs every 15 minutes between 11:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., with two routes: one between Terminal 1 and Terminal 5, and another between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5. Both routes transport passengers in each direction.

Terminal 3: Past, Present, and Future
Terminal 3 at Chicago O'Hare opened in 1960 and has seen numerous upgrades to accommodate growing passenger traffic. Key renovations in the late 1980s and early 1990s modernized facilities and expanded concourses. Currently, Terminal 3 is undergoing significant renovations under the $300 million ElevateT3 project, expected to be completed by 2027. This project includes expanding and reconfiguring spaces, streamlining security, and improving amenities.
As part of the larger $8.5 billion O'Hare 21 modernization plan, these efforts aim to transform O'Hare into a premier international hub, ensuring Terminal 3 meets the demands of modern travelers while maintaining its status as a critical transportation hub in North America.
