Getting Around MCN Airport
MCN Airport features two distinct terminals, each serving different types of flights. The commercial service terminal accommodates regular passenger airlines, while the general aviation terminal is dedicated to private, corporate, and military aircraft. Knowing which terminal your flight departs from or arrives at can help you plan your route within the airport.
Inside the terminals, signage is available to guide you to your desired location, such as gates, restrooms, and other services. Since the airport layout is straightforward, transitioning between different areas is generally simple. Here are a few tips to assist you while navigating inside the airport:
- Check the information displays upon arrival for any last-minute changes in gate assignments or flight schedules.
- If you're transferring between terminals, allow yourself sufficient time as you might need to exit one terminal and enter another.
- Ask airport staff for assistance if you find the signage confusing or need help with directions.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The Middle Georgia Regional Airport has one security checkpoint located on the main level of the terminal building. Passengers are required to go through the security checkpoint before entering the gate area. The airport recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Unfortunately, the Middle Georgia Regional Airport does not offer any fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers. TSA PreCheck allows passengers to go through a separate security lane and keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. TSA PreCheck is available at the security checkpoint for a fee of $85 for five years.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The Middle Georgia Regional Airport does not have any international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, if you are traveling internationally and connecting through another airport, you will need to go through passport control and customs at that airport before continuing on to your final destination.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At Macon Airport, TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints are available for passengers to go through security screening. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to go through an expedited screening process, which includes keeping on shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leaving laptops and liquids in carry-on bags. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program.
