Terminal A Info & Layout
Terminal A at San Jose Mineta Airport primarily handles both domestic and international flights, with a focus on accommodating international arrivals through its dedicated international arrivals building. This terminal features 17 gates, numbered 1–7, 7A, and 8–16, with Gate 7A being a ground-level gate used for remote parking positions.
Originally designed and built in 1990 for American Airlines, Terminal A underwent a significant renovation and expansion in 2009. This upgrade involved enlarging ground-level ticketing counters, expanding curbside parking space, enhancing security checkpoints, and increasing the number of concessions available to travelers. The terminal is home to two paid-entry lounges, "The Club at SJC," which offer snacks and beverages. These lounges are accessible to passengers with a Priority Pass card membership.
Passengers can access Terminal A via pedestrian walkways, and it is connected airside to Terminal B, allowing for easy movement between the two terminals. The terminal's unique design and efficient layout, recognized by the California Council of Civil Engineers, make it a noteworthy facility for air travelers seeking convenience and comfort.
