IAD Concourse C Map & Guide

This page is dedicated to providing information about Concourse C at Washington Dulles Airport. You will find general information about the concourse, along with how to access and utilize the available amenities.

Concourse C Info & Layout

Concourse C at Washington Dulles Airport is a key component of the airport’s operations, primarily serving United Airlines for both domestic and international flights. The concourse features 22 gates, numbered C1–C28, and is situated in the eastern half of the south midfield terminal. This concourse is integral to United's hub operations at Dulles.

Travelers will find a range of amenities in Concourse C, including dining options, retail stores, and seating areas. Although initially constructed as a temporary facility in 1983, Concourse C underwent significant renovations in 2006, which included upgrades to light fixtures, paint finishes, ceiling tiles, heating and air conditioning, and restroom facilities.

Access to Concourse C is facilitated by the AeroTrain, an underground people mover system. However, passengers should note that the AeroTrain station is located at a terminal north of the actual concourse, requiring a significant walk via an underground walkway to reach the gates. For international arrivals, passengers are transported by mobile lounges to the International Arrivals Building for processing, or if connecting, directed to a dedicated customs facility within Concourse C.

A unique feature of Concourse C is its dual exit configuration at gates C1-C14, allowing for both domestic and international arrivals. This flexibility ensures efficient passenger flow, with international passengers from non-pre-cleared airports being redirected to U.S. Customs & Immigration via a sterile corridor.

Future developments include plans for a new permanent C/D concourse as part of the D2 Dulles Development Project, which will enhance the current facilities and provide additional amenities similar to those found in Concourse B. This expansion aims to improve the passenger experience and accommodate growing traveler demands at Washington Dulles Airport.
