Cozumel International Airport CZM serves the island of Cozumel and is the only airport in southeast Mexico with no scheduled domestic flights; it is competing with nearby Cancun Airport. Even though you may pay more on airfare, the expense of transportation from nearby Cancun will offset that easily--not to mention that you save time traveling and avoid standing in 2-hour lines for the passport/ immigration station in Cancun, instead of 15 minutes in Cozumel. Cozumel, along with eight other Mexican airports in the southeast region, is operated by ASUR Airport Group.
CZM Airport is located on the island of Cozumel, State of Quintanta Roo, at the Caribbean coast near Cancun. It is about 3.5 miles east of the hotel zone, a 5-minute drive (exit along airport access road, turn right at the road fork; drive 1 mile and you get onto the main coastal highway running through the hotel zone).
With two long runways and an estimated 450,000 passengers a year, Cozumel International Airport is served by major US airlines and by overseas charters. It also offers air taxi services to Cancun & Merida.
The passenger terminal at Cozumel International Airport offers a Santander bank branch, American Express, 24-hr medical services, tourist booth, shops, Food court, restaurant & Bar, international news shop, rental car desks, and duty-free shops.
To get from the Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a shared minivan or a taxi.
