Breeze Airways History
Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline based in the United States. It was founded by David Neeleman, an entrepreneur with a successful track record in the aviation industry. The airline aims to provide affordable and convenient air travel options to underserved markets in the country.
The idea for Breeze Airways was born out of Neeleman's desire to address the pain points of air travel and create a better flying experience for customers. With his previous experience in founding airlines such as JetBlue Airways and Azul Brazilian Airlines, Neeleman had a deep understanding of the industry and saw an opportunity to make a difference.
In 2018, Neeleman announced his plans to launch Breeze Airways, which was initially known as Moxy. The airline's vision was to leverage technology and innovation to offer a seamless and hassle-free travel experience. Breeze Airways aimed to target secondary markets that were underserved by major carriers, providing them with affordable and direct flights.
After securing funding and regulatory approvals, Breeze Airways officially launched its operations in May 2021. The airline started with an initial fleet of Embraer E190 aircraft, offering flights to several destinations across the United States. Breeze Airways differentiated itself by focusing on non-stop flights between smaller airports, avoiding the need for connecting flights and layovers.
Since its launch, Breeze Airways has continued to expand its route network and fleet. The airline has placed orders for Airbus A220 aircraft, which will allow it to serve longer routes and increase its capacity. Breeze Airways aims to connect more cities across the United States and provide travelers with more options for affordable air travel.
