El Al Airlines understands that pets are an important part of many families and welcomes them on board their flights. Whether you want to bring your furry friend in the passenger cabin, as checked baggage, or even transport them as freight, El Al Airlines has options to accommodate your pet's needs.
If you plan to bring your pet in the passenger cabin, it's important to make a reservation at least 2 days before your flight. You can contact EL AL's Reservation Team at (800) 223-6700 to provide them with the weight of your animal, including the carrier, and its measurements. Small dogs, cats, and exotic birds are allowed in the cabin as long as their combined weight with the carrier does not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). You can even bring up to 2 pets in the same carrier if they stay under the weight limit. Throughout the journey, pets should remain inside their carrier under the seat in front of you. It's important to note that animals should be in good health and not have any unpleasant odors. The fee for this service is $100 each way.
If your pet exceeds the weight limit for the cabin, you can choose to transport them as checked baggage in the hold. Animals weighing over 17 lbs (8 kg) can be checked as baggage. You can carry up to 2 pets weighing less than 30 lbs (14 kg) in a single carrier. If you have 3 young animals under 6 months old who were born together, they can also be transported in the same carrier as long as they each weigh less than 30 lbs (14 kg). However, animals weighing more than this must be transported in separate carriers. The fee for this service is $200 for an animal weighing 20-110 lbs (9-50 kg) and $400 for an animal weighing 112-220 lbs (51-100 kg).

It's important to ensure that your pet's carrier meets the required standards. For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers should not exceed 16" H x 7.5" W x 15" D (41 cm x 38 cm x 19 cm) in Economy Class and 12" H x 12" W x 7.5" D (30 cm x 30 cm x 19 cm) in Business Class. The carriers can be either hard or soft, but they should be lined with soft material and have the ability to absorb dampness and prevent leakage. For pets traveling in the hold, carriers should be sturdy enough to prevent escape and provide proper ventilation on all four sides. The carrier door must also be secure to prevent the animal from escaping.
It's important to note that emotional support dogs are only permitted on El Al Airlines flights to/from the USA.
