Guidance, Tips, & info on Airlines and Airports

The carrier dimensions for pets in the cabin must not exceed 18" x 14" x 10" (45 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm), and it must be well-ventilated, sturdy, and feature a waterproof floor. You're allowed to keep multiple animals of the same species in one carrier, as long as they're small and light enough. For pets in the hold, the carrier size must not exceed 25" x 32" x 22" (65 cm x 83 cm x 56 cm). The carrier must comply with international regulations, be strong, secure, well-ventilated, waterproof, and adapted to the animal's size.

Iberia also has specific breed restrictions in place. Dog breeds like Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Argentine Dogo, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, and Akita Inu must be muzzled to travel with Iberia. Although snub-nosed dogs and cats can fly, they must meet the airline's requirements. For dogs, these breeds include Boston Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog, Bull Terrier, Brussels Griffon, Chow Chow, English Toy Spaniel, Japanese Spaniel/Japanese Chin, Mastiff, Pekingese, Pit Bull, Pug, Shih Tzu, Staffordshire Terrier, Shar-pei, and Affepinscher. Snub-nosed cat breeds not accepted are Burmese, Exotic Shorthair, Himalayan, and Persian.

It's important to note that airlines can change their policies without prior notice. So, before you book, we advise you to check directly with Iberia for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
