Pegasus Airlines History

Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost carrier that was founded in 1989. The airline started its operations in 1990 with two aircraft and a limited number of domestic flights. Over the years, Pegasus Airlines has grown to become one of the leading airlines in Turkey, offering both domestic and international flights.

Throughout its history, Pegasus Airlines has focused on providing affordable air travel options to its passengers. The airline has been successful in attracting a large number of budget-conscious travelers with its low fares and extensive route network.

In 2005, Pegasus Airlines underwent a significant transformation when it was acquired by ESAS Holding, a leading Turkish investment company. This acquisition brought in new management and investment, allowing the airline to expand its fleet and further develop its operations.

Since then, Pegasus Airlines has continued to grow and innovate. The airline has introduced new destinations, increased its fleet size, and improved its service offerings. It has also embraced new technologies to enhance the overall passenger experience, such as online check-in and mobile boarding passes.

Today, Pegasus Airlines operates a fleet of modern aircraft, including Airbus A320s and Boeing 737s. It serves over 100 destinations in more than 40 countries, connecting passengers to major cities in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
