Sata International Airlines Pet Policy
Sata International Airlines welcomes small pets to travel in the cabin with their owners. The allowed pets include cats, dogs, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, rabbits, tortoises/turtles, and aquarium fish. To ensure the safety and comfort of both the pet and the passengers, the combined weight of the pet and carrier must not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg).
If you are traveling with a pet in the cabin, please note that there is a fee associated with it. On domestic flights, the fee is 6 EUR per kg. For flights to Europe and Africa, the fee is 70 EUR, and for flights to the U.S. and Canada, the fee is $175.
In case your pet exceeds the weight limit to travel in the cabin, Sata International Airlines also allows pets to be transported as checked baggage. The maximum combined weight for pets and their carriers in the hold is 99 lbs (45 kg). Please keep in mind that fees apply when weight limits are exceeded.
For carriers weighing 24-32 kg (52-70 lbs), the fee is 40 EUR on flights to Europe and Africa, and $150 on flights to the U.S. and Canada. Carriers weighing 72-99 lbs (33-45 kg) incur a fee of 80 EUR on flights to Europe and Africa, and $300 on flights to the U.S. and Canada. Carriers that exceed 99 lbs (45 kg) will be charged 200 EUR on flights to Frankfurt, and $375 on flights to the U.S. and Canada.
It is important to ensure that the carriers meet the required dimensions and specifications. For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 21" L x 15" W x 8" H (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm). The carriers should allow pets to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably. They must have a fully secure locking system and be ventilated on at least three sides. Additionally, the carrier must be made of a strong material to prevent any escape or leakage, and absorbent material should be placed inside.
For pets traveling in the hold, carriers should not exceed 39" L x 30" W x 27" H (100 cm x 78 cm x 69 cm). They must be well-ventilated and equipped with handles for transportation.
It is important to note that certain breeds of animals are not allowed to travel with Sata International Airlines. These breeds include Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Tosa Inu.
Keep in mind that air carriers can change these policies at any time, so you should always check directly with the airline you are traveling on, before you book, for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
