Airport Terminal Layout

ABI Airport has one main terminal building with two concourses. Concourse A is used for all commercial airline operations and Concourse B is used for general aviation operations. The terminal has modern facilities and amenities to ensure a comfortable and convenient travel experience for passengers.

Overview of Terminals

The main terminal at the airport is equipped with all the necessary facilities and services for travelers. The terminal features a spacious check-in area, baggage claim, and security checkpoint. There are also several dining and shopping options available for passengers, including a restaurant, coffee shop, and gift shop. The airport also offers free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal building.

Concourse A is home to the airport's commercial airlines, including American Eagle and United Airlines. The concourse has several gates and waiting areas for passengers, as well as a food court and retail shops. Concourse B is used for general aviation operations, including private and charter flights.

Getting Between Terminals

As ABI has only one main terminal building, there is no need to transfer between terminals. However, passengers who are flying out of Concourse B for general aviation flights may need to take a short walk or shuttle ride from the main terminal to the concourse. The airport provides a complimentary shuttle service for passengers who need to transfer between the main terminal and Concourse B. The shuttle runs every 10 minutes and is easily accessible from the main terminal building.

Food, Shops & Services

Abilene Regional Airport may be small, but it still offers a decent selection of food and shopping options for travelers passing through. If you're feeling hungry, head to the airport's lone restaurant, Hangar 25, located near the main terminal. This restaurant serves up classic American fare, including burgers, sandwiches, and salads. There's also a bar area where you can grab a drink before your flight.

For those looking to do some last-minute shopping, the airport has a gift shop located in the main terminal. Here, you can find a variety of souvenirs, snacks, and travel essentials. Additionally, there's a newsstand where you can pick up a magazine or newspaper to read on your flight.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

ABI Airport has one security checkpoint located at the entrance of the main terminal. Passengers are required to go through the security checkpoint before entering the boarding area. The security checkpoint is equipped with X-ray machines and metal detectors to screen passengers and their belongings. It is recommended that passengers arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

The airport does not currently offer fast track lanes for passengers. However, passengers with disabilities or medical conditions may request assistance from the airport staff to expedite the security screening process. Additionally, TSA PreCheck members are eligible for expedited screening at the security checkpoint. Passengers can apply for TSA PreCheck online or in-person at an enrollment center.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

ABI does not have international flights, therefore, there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling to international destinations from Abilene Regional Airport will need to go through passport and immigration control at their final destination. It is recommended that passengers check the entry requirements for their destination country and ensure they have the necessary travel documents before departing from Abilene Airport.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

ABI Airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints. The TSA Pre Checkpoint allows eligible passengers to go through security screening faster and with less hassle. To be eligible for TSA Pre, passengers must go through a pre-screening process and pay a fee. The TSA Checkpoint is available for all passengers and follows standard security procedures. It is recommended that passengers arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to allow for enough time to go through security.

Global Entry Locations

The airport does not have a Global Entry Enrollment Center. However, there are several enrollment centers located nearby in major cities such as Dallas and Houston. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. To enroll in Global Entry, passengers must apply online, undergo a background check, and complete an in-person interview at an enrollment center. Once approved, Global Entry members can use automated kiosks to expedite the customs process when entering the United States from abroad.

Airport Lounge Locations

ABI offers one lounge for travelers to relax and unwind before their flight. The American Airlines Admirals Club is located on the second floor of the main terminal, near gate 3. This lounge is exclusively for American Airlines passengers and members of the Admirals Club. It offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi.

Baggage Claim Areas

Abilene Regional Airport has one baggage claim area located on the lower level of the main terminal. Passengers can easily locate their baggage by checking the overhead monitors displaying the flight information. The baggage claim area is equipped with baggage carousels and baggage carts for passenger convenience.

Luggage Cart Availability

Luggage carts are available at Abilene Airport for passenger use. Passengers can find these carts in the baggage claim area and throughout the terminal. The carts are free of charge and can be used to transport luggage and other items to and from the airport. Passengers are advised to return the carts to designated areas after use to ensure availability for other passengers.

ABI Airport does not currently offer luggage storage facilities or left luggage services. Passengers are advised to keep their luggage with them at all times or make arrangements with their airline for storage options. Alternatively, there are several luggage storage companies located near the airport that offer secure storage options for a fee.
