Getting Around GRR Airport

Gerald R. Ford International Airport features a single passenger terminal divided into two concourses: Concourse A and Concourse B. Concourse A has 15 gates and primarily serves Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and United Airlines. Concourse B, slightly smaller with eight gates, accommodates Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Allegiant Air. All gates at both concourses are equipped with climate-controlled jetways, enhancing comfort as you board or disembark your flights.

When navigating the terminal, you can benefit from the centralized layout. The airport's recent updates have centralized security screening, making the process smoother and reducing the time you spend in line. After security, you'll find the new Marketplace where you can shop or grab a bite before your flight. The terminal also offers several business centers and lounges, providing quiet spaces to work or relax. Signage throughout the airport is clear, helping you find your way to your gate, restrooms, and other facilities without hassle.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

The Gerald R Ford Airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located in the main terminal, near the ticket counters. There are also additional security checkpoints located in Concourse A and Concourse B for passengers departing from those gates. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

The Gerald R Ford Airport offers a TSA PreCheck program for eligible passengers, which allows them to use the expedited security screening lanes. The TSA PreCheck lanes are located at the main security checkpoint in the main terminal and in Concourse A. In addition, there is a CLEAR program available at the airport, which allows passengers to bypass the regular security lines altogether. The CLEAR lanes are located at the main security checkpoint in the main terminal. Both programs require pre-enrollment and a fee, but can save passengers valuable time and hassle at the airport.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

The Gerald R Ford Airport does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling internationally will go through customs and immigration at their port of entry into the United States.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

At Grand Rapids Airport, TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints are available to help expedite the security screening process. TSA Pre allows eligible passengers to enjoy a faster, more efficient screening experience by keeping on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. TSA Pre is available to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents, as well as members of the TSA PreCheck application program. TSA Pre lanes are located at the main checkpoint and the concourse checkpoint.

To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and attend an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center.
