Airport Terminal Layout
HNL Airport is made up of six terminals: Central Concourse, Commuter Terminal, Diamond Head Concourse, EWA Concourse, Interisland, and Main Terminal. Each terminal has its own unique features and serves different airlines and destinations. The Main Terminal is the largest and busiest terminal, with four levels and two concourses. The Interisland Terminal serves flights between Hawaiian Islands, while the Commuter Terminal is used for smaller regional airlines. The Diamond Head and EWA Concourses serve international flights, and the Central Concourse is used for domestic flights.
Overview of Terminals
The Main Terminal is the heart of the airport and houses most of the airport's amenities, including shops, restaurants, and lounges. The Interisland Terminal is located adjacent to the Main Terminal and is used exclusively for flights between Hawaiian Islands. The Commuter Terminal is located on the opposite side of the airport and is used for regional airlines. The Diamond Head and EWA Concourses are located on the opposite side of the airport from the Commuter Terminal and serve international flights. The Central Concourse is located between the Main Terminal and the Diamond Head Concourse and is used for domestic flights.
Getting Between Terminals
To get between the major terminals at the airport, passengers can use the free Wiki Wiki shuttle service, which runs 24/7 and stops at all terminals. The shuttle is located outside of the baggage claim areas in each terminal. For passengers with a connecting flight, they can also use the inter-terminal walkways, which are located on the second level of the Main Terminal and connect to the Interisland and Commuter Terminals.
Food, Shops & Services
When it comes to food and shopping, HNL has plenty to offer. The airport has a wide range of dining options, from fast food chains to sit-down restaurants. You can grab a quick bite at McDonald's, Starbucks, or Subway, or sit down for a meal at Kona Brewing Company or La Piazza. There are also several bars and lounges where you can relax with a drink before your flight.
In addition to food options, Honolulu Airport has a variety of shops and amenities to keep you entertained during your layover. You can browse through the duty-free shops and pick up souvenirs, clothing, or electronics. There are also several newsstands and bookstores where you can grab a magazine or novel for your flight. If you need to freshen up, there are shower facilities available for a fee. And if you need to catch up on work, the airport has free Wi-Fi and charging stations throughout the terminals.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
HNL Airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The main security checkpoint is located in the center of the Main Terminal, near the baggage claim area. There are also additional security checkpoints located in each of the concourses, including the Central Concourse, Commuter Terminal, Diamond Head Concourse, and EWA Concourse. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The airport offers a TSA PreCheck program, which allows eligible passengers to use the expedited security screening lanes. The TSA PreCheck lanes are located at the main security checkpoint in the Main Terminal, as well as in each of the concourses. In addition, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for their premium passengers. These lanes are typically located near the airline's check-in counters.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The passport and immigration control locations at HNL are located in the Main Terminal, near the baggage claim area. There are separate lines for U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens. The airport also offers Automated Passport Control kiosks for eligible passengers, which can help expedite the passport control process. These kiosks are located in the Main Terminal, near the passport control area.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
At Honolulu Airport, there are several TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport. These checkpoints are designed to help expedite the security screening process for eligible passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows pre-approved travelers to move through security checkpoints more quickly by keeping their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and leaving laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, travelers must apply and be approved through the TSA website or by enrolling in a trusted traveler program such as Global Entry.
Global Entry Locations
For travelers who frequently fly internationally, Global Entry is a great option to help expedite the customs and immigration process. Honolulu Airport has a Global Entry Enrollment Center located in the International Arrivals Terminal. This allows eligible travelers to complete their Global Entry interview and enrollment process upon arrival in Honolulu. Global Entry is a program that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to bypass the traditional customs and immigration lines and use automated kiosks to complete their entry into the United States. To be eligible for Global Entry, travelers must apply and be approved through the TSA website or by enrolling in a trusted traveler program such as TSA Pre Check.
CLEAR Lane Locations

Airport Lounge Locations
HNL Airport offers a variety of lounges for passengers to relax and unwind before their flight. The airport has lounges for major airlines such as United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines.
The United Club Lounge is located in the Central Concourse and offers a comfortable space for United Airlines passengers to enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages, as well as access to Wi-Fi and charging stations. The Delta Sky Club Lounge is located in the Diamond Head Concourse and offers similar amenities for Delta Air Lines passengers. The American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge is located in the EWA Concourse and offers a quiet space for American Airlines passengers to work or relax before their flight.
Baggage Claim Areas
The airport has four baggage claim areas located on the ground level of the Main Terminal. Baggage claim areas A, B, and C are located on the left side of the terminal, while baggage claim area H is located on the right side. Each baggage claim area has electronic display screens that show flight numbers and corresponding baggage carousels. Baggage carts are available for travelers to use free of charge in the baggage claim areas.
Luggage Cart Availability
Luggage carts are available for travelers to use free of charge in the baggage claim areas, as well as in the parking garages and on the departures level of the Main Terminal. If you need assistance with your luggage, Skycaps are available to help you with your bags and provide luggage cart service for a fee. Skycaps can be found outside of the Main Terminal and at the curbside check-in areas.
Luggage Storage Locations
Travelers can store their luggage at the Left Luggage facility located on the ground level of the Main Terminal, near baggage claim area A. The facility is open daily from 5:30am to 11:30pm and offers both short-term and long-term storage options. Prices vary depending on the size of the luggage and the length of storage time. Additionally, some hotels near the airport offer luggage storage services for their guests.
