Minot International Airport MOT serves North Dakota's north-central area and the city of Minot in Ward County, and is the state’s fourth largest city and the trading center for a large portion of North Dakota, southeastern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba.
Due to the Bakken Shale Oil Field development, air traffic has increased tremendously - expected to go even further. Minot Airport is preparing for it by adjusting its infrastructure & accommodating growing passenger counts.
MOT Airport is only 2 miles north of downtown Minot, accessible by State Hwys. 82 and 2 and by Route 52. It is open 4am to one hour after the last flight of the day.
With 2 runways and over 302,245 passengers in 2016, the Airport is served by major airlines offering daily nonstop flights to major hubs with convenient connections.
The Airport requests that passengers arrive at least 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure.
The new Passenger Terminal opened early 2016 with a capacity of handling 300,000 passengers annually, and its hundreds of window panes allow for natural light. The new terminal houses 6 airline gates (4 of which with climate-controlled jet bridges), the latest technology in monitors and boarding areas and a children's play area, while pre-security houses a Cafe, restaurant area, and gift shop, and at post-security a restaurant & bar, travel items and gifts. Free WiFi access and work stations are in the departure lounge.
