Roanoke Blacksburg Regional Airport ROA serves Virginia's city Roanoke & its New River valleys and beyond, as well as the adjacent area of Blacksburg. It is a full-service airport accommodating all types of aviation: scheduled airlines, freight carriers, general aviation, corporate, air taxi and charter operations and the military.
ROA Airport is within Roanoke's city limits, in the south-western part of the State of Virginia - surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, and easily accessible by Interstates 81via I-581/220.
With two runways and 208,288 passengers in 2016, Roanoke Regional Airport is served by major airlines, offering direct flights to U.S. hub cities, with global connections.
E-check-in: Delta and United passengers checking in on-line will be prompted to select receiving their boardig pass either on paper or electronically. With the latter option, passengers are able to check bags, check in at TSA checkpoint and at the gate from a Smart Phone - by simply scanning the Airline's barcode.
The Y-shaped passenger terminal at Roanoke Regional Airport has two levels, offering free internet access (use ROA-WI-FI). Red-vested Airport Ambassadors are stationed in the pre-security areas to help you navigate the terminal.
The first level is the Arrivals Level, offering baggage claim, rental cars; vending-, change- and ATM machines; telephones (TTY, TDD) and data ports; a shoeshine stand, a mail box and a hotel information desk. All post-security facilities are available to ticketed passengers after security check.
The second level is the Departures Level, offering a pre- and a post-security cafes, a restaurant, newsstand, telephones, an ATM machine and access airline gates. Small work desks are on level 2 at pre-security and electrical outlets are nearby. The boarding area houses airline gates 1 - 6, with a restaurant/bar & gift shop near gates 5A & 6.
The Meet & Greet area is in the center of level 2.

Service starts at downtown Roanoke's Valley Metro'sCampbell Court Transport Center and ends at Virginia Tech's Student Center.
Present and future Airport developments: In early 2017 it was announced that the Airport is to receive $4.2M in Federal funds to replace its boarding bridges.

In August 2017 preparation started for a new Walkway Canopy installation, keeping passengers dry when walking between terminal and parking lots.
