The Chesapeake Bay and Wicomico River provide several marinas, a dozen public boat ramps, and eight waterfront parks for boating, fishing, and crabbing. Great fresh water fishing is available at Leonard's Mill Park, North Lake Park, Schumaker Park and Adkins' Mill Pond.
Pemberton Historical Park is a well preserved colonial plantation with the original home built in 1741 and restored outbuildings. The park has a pond and numerous nature trails along the Wicomico River.
Minor League Baseball has a home in the new, state-of-the-art, 5,000 seat Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, home to the Class A Carolina League Delmarva Shorebirds.
The Wicomico Athletic Complex offers four softball, one baseball, and four soccer fields plus concession stands, rest rooms, playground and picnic area. The award winning complex regularly hosts regional and national tournaments.
The Wicomico Equestrian Center is just one of 50 parks owned by Wicomico County which provide athletic and sports facilities and nature at its best.
The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art is located along side Schumaker Pond in Salisbury. The museum offers not only a look at our area's wildlife, but hosts special events and carving competitions throughout the year.
Hunting, fishing and hiking opportunities abound in the 3,200 acres of Maryland's Ellis Bay Wildlife Management Area, Johnson Wildlife Refuge and Wicomico State Forest.
Salisbury Zoological Park is considered one of the finest small zoos in North America with almost 400 animals. The Zoo is located within a park along the banks of the Wicomico River.
