Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport has one security checkpoint located on the second floor of the terminal building. Passengers are required to go through security screening before entering the gate area. The security checkpoint is open daily from 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and passengers are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport does not currently offer any fast track lanes for passengers. However, passengers with TSA PreCheck can use the dedicated TSA PreCheck lane at the security checkpoint, which allows them to go through security screening more quickly and with less hassle. TSA PreCheck is available to eligible passengers who have enrolled in the program and paid the fee.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport does not have any international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. All flights departing from the airport are domestic flights within the United States, so passengers are not required to show a passport or go through immigration control. However, passengers are still required to show a valid form of government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license or passport, at the security checkpoint.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
San Luis Obispo Airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for eligible passengers. It is available for U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents. TSA Pre Check passengers can leave on their shoes, light jackets, and belts, and keep their laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. The TSA Pre Checkpoint at SBP Airport is located at the main security checkpoint.
