Sharm el Sheikh Ophira Airport has presenty of two terminals, the new T1 & the old T2 (while new T3 is will open 2015).
Terminal 1 is the international terminal - opened in 2007 with a capacity of 8M passengers per annum. Its 40 check-in counters are for passenger traffic from international (with some exception) and chartered flights. The terminal has three components--two halls shaped in circular fashion and featuring an airy, tent-like roof representing Beduin culture, with a space in between referred to as 'the boat' which serves as passenger transit hub for passport control, duty free shops, restaurants & cafes and VIP areas.
Terminal 2 is the domestic terminal with a capacity of 2.5 million passengers a year is host to Air Berlin, Air Cairo, Eurofly & Livingston Airlines, among others.
Amenities & services inside the two terminals include restaurants & cafes, WiFi internet access, post office, currency exchange, souvenir and convenience shops, cloakrooms, rental car counters, pay phones for international calls,
Check-in service starts 3 hrs prior to departure and ends one hour before departure.
International passengers pass through passport control and customs. An entry permit for Egypt is available in the Arrivals area.
NOTE: A new Terminal 3 is now expected to open by 2017/18 and will house a departure & an arrival hall for both domestic & international flights. Its innovative roof will shade the departure area and bring in natural light.
Its Departure Hall will occupy two levels:
- The lower level will house shops, duty-free area & baggage handling facilities - with offices, cafe & corridors in the central area.
- The ground level will house the passport check area, check-in hall, and public departure hall & offices - while the central area will house the immigration hall, food & drink concessions, offices and restrooms.
Its Arrivals Hall will occupy two levels: (a) The lower level houses the baggage handling facility with support services. (b) The ground level houses a public arrivals hall, visa processing room, international & domestic baggage claim facility, customs area & offices.
- Level 1 will house VIP lounge & cafeteria.

Getting into town takes 20 minutes by either public mini-bus or prepaid taxi.
