Security & Screening
In this section, you will learn about the locations of security checkpoints, Fast Track lanes, and passport and immigration control within the main terminal building. Additionally, it provides information on TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints, Global Entry locations, and the availability of CLEAR lanes. The section also includes details on how to enroll in or renew TSA PreCheck and take advantage of limited-time offers for expedited security screening services.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
SWF has two security checkpoints located in the main terminal building. The first checkpoint is located on the ground floor near the baggage claim area, while the second checkpoint is located on the upper level near the departure gates. Both checkpoints are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and their belongings.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
Fast Track lanes are available for passengers who want to expedite the security screening process. These lanes are located at both security checkpoints in the main terminal building. Passengers who are eligible for Fast Track include those with TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or CLEAR membership. These lanes are clearly marked and can save passengers a significant amount of time during the security screening process.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Passport and immigration control is located in the main terminal building, near the baggage claim area. This area is staffed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers who are responsible for processing all international arrivals. Passengers should have their passports and other necessary travel documents ready for inspection. The process can take some time, so passengers are advised to plan accordingly and arrive at the airport with plenty of time before their flight.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Newburgh Stewart Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows expedited screening for trusted travelers who have undergone a background check. This program allows passengers to keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and keep laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. Passengers who are eligible for TSA Pre Check can use the dedicated lanes at security checkpoints, which typically have shorter wait times.

Global Entry Locations
Newburgh Airport is a designated Global Entry location, which allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Global Entry members can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric scanning, which can save time and reduce wait times. To become a Global Entry member, travelers must apply and undergo a background check. Once approved, members can use the program at any participating airport in the United States.
