The Airport is only 5 miles from city center, and is easily accessible by State Hwy 44 (International Drive Exit), which runs west into Hwy 358 (S.Padres Island Drive), connecting north to Interstate Hwy 37. (The Coast Gard moved into their new on-airport facility lat Sept. 2017.
With 675,701 passengers in 2016, Corpus Christi airport is served by major airlines offering nonstop flights to Houston Bush Intercontinental, Houston-Hobby, and Dallas/Ft. Worth, as well as to Hawaii and Mexico.
A new International Business Center is located within the Airport perimeter.
Post-Hurricane Irma: The terminal received only minor damage and is presently fully operational, with all three air carriers in service.
The passenger terminal at CCIA is called Hayden W. Head Terminal. It offers a free WiFi hot zone, expanded ticket counters, baggage claim areas, customer service center, restaurants & gift shop, an ATM machine, Smarte Cartes, and an USO lounge on level 2. The main restaurant & bar is now in the secured area (all three restaurants completed their renovation).
Rental car counters are located in the baggage claim area.
The Federal Inspection Service area has recently been renovated enabling it now to process 200 passengers an hour.
Friendly Airport Ambassador volunteers roam the terminal and are happy to direct you and answer your travel-related questions.
- TSA Pre-Check is now available at CCIA.
- Sky Cabs are available early morning to mid-afternoon; tips are accepted.

** Note that all American Eagle flights to/from Dallas DFW use Embraer ERJ-154 regional jets, flown by Envoy Air; or Canadair flown by Mesa Airlines or with mainline service on a daily MD-80.
Transportation: Aside from taxis & shuttles, no public transportation from the Airport is available, other than the RTA's B Ride Line for special needs (361-289-2600) requires 24-hr advance notice.
