Getting Around YHZ Airport
YHZ Airport features a single terminal with a total of 32 gate positions, making navigation relatively straightforward. The terminal is divided into sections with airbridges and ground-loading gates. Specifically, gates 12, 14–16, 18, 20, 22–24, and 26–28 are equipped with airbridges. These gates facilitate easier boarding and deboarding directly from the terminal to the aircraft. The remaining gates are ground-loading positions, which might require a short walk outdoors or transportation by shuttle to reach your aircraft.
For your convenience, gates 22–24 and 26–28 are designed as swing gates. This setup allows these gates to serve both international passengers and pre-cleared departing US passengers through a secure, glassed-in corridor that segregates different passenger flows depending on the flight's destination. When used for US departures, these gates are renumbered as 52–54 and 56–58. Additionally, gates 2 (a-e) to 9 cater specifically to domestic regional operations, while gates 34 to 46 handle US flights and are also ground-loading. Familiarizing yourself with your gate number and its corresponding section can help you navigate the terminal more efficiently.

Additionally, discover how to renew or enroll in TSA PreCheck for a smoother travel experience.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
YHZ Airport has several security checkpoints located throughout the terminal. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process. The main security checkpoint is located on the main level of the terminal, near the check-in counters. There are also additional security checkpoints located near the gates for domestic and international flights.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The airport offers Fast Track lanes for passengers who want to expedite the security screening process. These lanes are available to passengers who have purchased a Fast Track pass or who are members of certain frequent flyer programs. The Fast Track lanes are located at the main security checkpoint and at the domestic and international gates. Passengers who use the Fast Track lanes can expect to save time and avoid long lines.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
The Passport and Immigration Control locations at YHZ are located on the lower level of the terminal, near the baggage claim area. Passengers arriving on international flights will need to pass through Passport Control before collecting their luggage. Canadian citizens and permanent residents can use the self-service kiosks to speed up the process. Non-Canadian citizens will need to go through the regular Passport Control line. After Passport Control, passengers will proceed to the Immigration Control area, where they will be processed by Canadian Border Services agents.
