I will be flying from Atlanta to jfk with a 3 1/2 hr layover to Tel Aviv. I will have to go from terminal 5 to terminal 4. I fly jet blue and then el al -booked on one reservation. Will I have to claim and recheck my luggage in jfk? Can I walk to switch terminals or take the air train? Thank you.
You won't have to claim your bags on the way to Tel Aviv. You have to take the AirTrain between terminals.
Thank you for your prompt response. Is that enough time of a layover to switch terminals ?
Yes, that is plenty of time.
Hi,

We will be arriving JFK terminal 4 from the UK at 12.55pm and our next flight to Philadelphia is leaving terminal 8 at 17.25pm. We booked the tickets separately and they are two different airlines (not partners). We are non-U.S. citizens. Just wonder if 4 hours is enough for all the customs and immigration check, baggage claim and drop off, as well as Airtrain. Not sure if separate tickets make things more difficult. Thank you!
Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to take your bags with you on the AirTrain to Terminal 8 to re-check them with American.
Is it possible to walk from T5 to T4 ? are there sidewalks? Seems so close and easier to walk rather then mess around with AIRTRAN.
It's not possible to walk. They're not really that close. You have to take the AirTrain.
Hello,

I booking a ticket with Korean air (economy) to JFK which arrives JFK around 11:20am (NY local time), and a separate ticket which is via delta (Business) JFK-MIA (leaving 3:20pm)... I know I need to clear immigration and customs when I arrive, If I count the number of hours it would be around 3 hours to make the connection. Will I have enough time with this connection given I have 2 separate tickets? And for luggage, do I need to line up at the regular check in counter at Terminal 2 for my Delta Flight?
You have 4 hours if the times you posted are correct. You have enough time. You can use the SkyPriority line to check in in Terminal 2 since you are flying First/Business to Miami.
Thank you. Even as a non us citizen with a visa?
Yes, it should
Can I make a 40 minute connection from Delta to Virgin Atlantic?
Yes, it's possible if the delta flight is domestic and on-time but leaves absolutely no time to spare.
I am flying delta into jfk from Atlanta. Layover is 55 min, and leaving JFK on Delta to Athens direct flight in September. Is that enough time, it's a legal connection per Delta. Would I have to go through security if ATH flight leaves from Terminal 1.
Yes, that is enough time. No Delta flights depart from Terminal 1. Your flight to Athens will depart from Terminal 4.
Is there a charge to ride the Air-Train between terminals? We need to go from terminal 5 to terminal 1.
There is no charge to ride it between terminals.
Hi. I'm traveling from Raleigh to JFK on Delta (arriving at terminal 2 at 15:12), and then connecting from JFK to Paris Orly (departing from terminal 1 on Air France at 18:20). These were separate tickets, but the gate agent at RDU tells me that because Delta and Air France are partners, I can check my luggage through to Paris when I depart from RDU. I'm a US citizen. Is that enough time to change terminals and get through security in JFK?
That should be plenty of time.
Many thanks!
Arriving JFK T4 on 4/25 at 3:28 on KLM. Departing JFK T1 on 4/25 at 4:25pm on KLM. Is this enough time?
Where are you flying from and to? KLM only flies to Amsterdam from JFK and only uses T4, not T1.
Sorry, booked through
KLM but operated by Delta from PDX to JFK and by Alitalia from JFK to FCO.
OK, then you will take the AirTrain from T4 to T1 and then go through security. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hello, I´m booking separate reservations. Would it be time enough between two segments?
First one arrives Monday June 4th from Ireland 15:05PM Air Lingus Terminal 5. And then departure 16:40 pm from Terminal 7 Interjet international flight to Mexico. Would 1:35 minutes be enough to the connections? (only carry on baggage with me).
With carry-ons only that is BARELY enough time. You will have to take the AirTrain to Terminal 7, get your Interjet boarding pass if you can't get it online, and go through security.
