HI,
I Will Land at Jfk at 4.25 pm with delta from Italy and my connection to LA Is with American Airlines at 8.00pm. I Will have enough time to pass the controls, pick up the bag, change terminal and recheck the suitcases ?
Yes, that should be enough time.
I am flying from Baltimore to London on Virgin Atlantic but the flight (both ways) stops in New York (JFK). Do I have to get off the plane at JFK, get my luggage, go back through the regular check in process and then get on the NY to London flight? Or is it like any other connection where my bags are just moved to the next flight and I can just go right to my next gate?
In JFK on the way to Baltimore you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. On your way back to London all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate - there is no US Customs when leaving the US. Note that your flights between Baltimore and JFK will be operated by Delta.
Hi, I'm arriving with Airberlin to JFK Terminal 8 on December 21, 4pm with ESTA and leaving at 6 pm probably also from Terminal 8 to Orlando (AA). Do I have to get my luggage and check it again?
Is this enough time for immigration? I have 1 reservation from AirBerlin for all flights. (If the flight from Berlin is delayd am I eligible to get a later flight ticket?)
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. If you miss your connection, you will be rebooked on the next available flight, which is not until the following afternoon unless they send you through another AA hub.
Arriving with Jet Blue from Haiti at terminal 5 at 14.59 and leaving with Swiss at 19.25 from terminal 4. Do you think it is enough time ? thanks
Yes, that should be enough time, even if the flights are on two separate reservations.
How long will it take to connect from terminal 5 to terminal 1
Physically getting between the two terminals takes 10-15 minutes on the AirTrain, but you will have to go through security again in Terminal 1.
Arriving to JFK from Frankfurt at 11:15 am (Singapore Airlines) at Terminal 4 and leaving at Terminal 5 at 1:54 pm with Jetblue to San Juan, PR. Baggage cannot be checked through. Is this enough time for immigration (with ESTA), transfer to Terminal 5 and checking there? Thanks
That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi, I'm considering buying a ticket from Brussels to Miami with KLM (operated by DELTA - KL 6141 and KL 5408) which has a transfer time of 1 hour 38 minutes on JFK. I'm not eligible for Global Entry, just on Visa waiver.

Will I have enough time to catch the connecting flight?
That is just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Am arriving to JFK from Dubai at 8:45pm (Emirates Airlines). Then planning to take the 11:10pm flight to Boston (Jet Blue). First - will i have to do immigration at JFK or Boston? Secondly, do i have enough time to catch the flight to Boston? Thanks.
In JFK you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk (if your bags are tagged to Boston), then go to Terminal 5, through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly and everything is booked on one reservation.
Thank you. What if the Boston flight is booked on a separate reservation? Thanks
Then you will have to take your bags to the JetBlue ticket counter in Terminal 5 to re-check them, then go through security there.
Hello - I separately bought tickets for IAD to JFK (on Jetblue) and then JFK to Lisbon (on TAP). There is an interline agreement between these airlines. Will my bags go through to Lisbon when I check-in at IAD? When I wrote Jet Blue, they acknowledged the interline agreement but said: "Keep in mind that you may need to collect your bags for screening through customs in JFK and recheck the bag with TAP, depending on airport procedures."
I should add that I get into JFK at 9:50 pm in the Jet Blue flight (terminal 5, I believe) and leave JFK at 11:40 pm on the TAP flight (terminal 5 also, I believe)
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. This is a very difficult connection if you can't get your bags checked through. If you CAN get your bags checked through it will be very easy.
I am debating on booking a flight from Phoenix to Halifax with a 1 hour 3 min connection in JFK. I am assuming we would have to switch from the domestic terminal to international terminal? Is this enough time?
JFK has six terminals, 5 of which handle international flights. What airlines would you be flying?
