We have a flight from San Juan arriving at 16:45 in Newark. We depart at 19:00 from Newark to Vancouver, BC, Canada. Can someone advise if we clear Customs in San Juan do we still clear Customs in Newark on arrival or before departure or are we okay until we arrive in Canada. With thanks,
Flights between Puerto Rico and the mainland US are domestic flights and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. You have enough time.
Hi, i am travelling to Mumbai via newyark by united airlines starting from Detroit. Layover time at newark is just 40 minutes. Is it adequate to change planes and pls let me know if there is a need to change terminals
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. You may or may not have to change terminals. If you arrive in Terminal A, United runs a shuttle bus to Terminal C where you depart inside security.
I'm traveling from Puntacana Dominican Republic to Allentown with a connection at EWR. United(PUJ-EWR) and United Express Bus Service (EWR-ABE)
Any help with the process.
I have 3 hours connection
Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly. Here's a long forum thread on how the bus works - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/continental-onepass-pre-merger/747835-abe-ewr-bus-service-questions-threads-merged.html
I am travelling from Bogotá-Colombia (BOG) --through EWR-- to Hamburg-Germany (HAM). I have a flight on United with the same ticket. Is 1.52 H enough to transfer from Terminal A to Terminal C?
Thank you!
You won't arrive in A. You will arrive in B or C and depart from C. In Between you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, possibly change terminals, and go through security. It is a fairly risky connection.
Hi,

I am landing at EWR from LHR at 19.20 and would like to take another flight (with a different airline) to LAX. There is a UA flight at 21.30, would 2h10 be enough to clear immigration, get my bag, check it in and then go through security again?

Thank you!
What airline are you flying to Newark?
Virgin Atlantic
I would recommend 3 hours for such a connection if you have checked bags.
Thank you for your help!
HI,
I am flying back from Dublin -- thru EWR - to Detroit --- is 1 HR 15min enough to navigate from Terminal B to C for my flight ?-- I know I will clear customs/ Immig in Dublin -- trying to avoid a 5hr lay over
Thank you
Monica
If everything is on the same reservation that is just enough time.
Hi, I'm travelling to EWR from LHR and then to BUF, I've only got 2 hours to make the connection. The flights have been booked separately. Will that be enough time to clear immigration, collect my bag, check it and then clear security again?

Thanks
On two separate reservations that's probably not enough time.
How much tim do you consider as necessary for transfer time? Is 1.55 H for a flight on United coming from Francfort , than a flight to San José Costa Rica?

thank you!
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Hi

We have a 1h35m connection arriving at terminal B with SAS from Oslo (OSL) and departing on United from Terminal C to Fort Lauderdale (FLL). The trip is on one ticket.

Is it enough time? And do you recommend taking the Airtrain or entering through security in terminal B and taking the shuttle to C?
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. I would take the AirTrain to C and go through security there. The new C security checkpoints are very good.
I am flying from Dublin, Ireland (DUB) to Newark (EWR), but my connection time to Orlando, Florida (MCO) is only 35 minutes. If I only have a carry on, and I have been precleared in Dublin, will I be treated as a domestic arrival, or will I have to go through customs again? Should I change to a flight with a longer connection time?
Correct, all you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 35 minutes is possible but leaves no time to spare if the flight from Dublin is delayed at all.
