Hi i have a connecting flight from NRT - SFO - DFW. i reach SFO at 10.40am and leave SFO to DFW at 1.12pm. I understand i am required to check out my bags and check in again here due to immigration checks when entering US. Am travelling with an infant so may i know exactly which terminal to go to. Travelling via united. And will it be enough time?
You will arrive in the International Terminal and depart from Terminal 3. You have enough time.
Thanks Zap. Can i also confirm a rough estimate of time of the immigration checks in SFO. Will be travelling on a Wednesday. Thanks again.
Hello, I am flying from MFR to SFO on United, arriving at 11:52 and and leaving on Air Berlin (Terminal A?) at 13:45. Layover is 1' 50". Will this be enough time? Thank you! STEVEN
Air Berlin uses concourse A of the International Terminal. If this is two separate reservations you have just enough time as you will have to transfer any checked bags yourself.
We have no checked baggage. So we should be in better shape, right? Thank you! S.R.
I am arriving on united flight from Vancouver at 08.20 and departing on Etihad at 0955. Is there enough time to make the connection, and can my baggage connect automatically without collecting and checking again??
United and Etihad do not have an interline agreement. You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly. I personally wouldn't try this even though you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver.
Hi, I am thinking of taking a United flight that is connecting at SFO. The flight will arrive at SFO international (at 9.10am) and depart at terminal 3 ( at 10.40am). Will there be enough time for me to transit? My concern is whether there will be any checks that will delay the transition.
Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.
Do I need to clear Customs in SF when arriving from Vancouver BC and if so, how long will it take?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver.
Is 1 hour enough to go from term 3 and then to go to term 1 for a flight to YUL
Flight path is LAX- SFO- YUL

No flights to Montreal leave from Terminal 1. It will leave from the International Terminal. If both flights are on the same reservation that should be enough time.
I'm traveling in mid-November from Portland to Singapore via SFO with a 1"10' connection, from VX in Term 2 to SQ in Term G. Will that work for able-bodied with little hand-carry?
That's barely possible if the first flight is on-time.
Hello, I am flying LAS to AKL via SFO. the booking is with Air New Zealand and the transit in SFO is 1 hour 19 mins. LAS to SFO is on United. Is this enough time and will I be able to clear immigration and customs in LAS? Is there a terminal change for a domestic to international?
There is no US Immigration and Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is a walkway from T3 where you arrive to Concourse G of the International Terminal where you depart inside security. You have enough time.
I am flying home from Boise BOI to Toronto YYZ with a one hour layover in SFO. Is one hour enough time? Would I need to re-check baggage in SFO? First flight is United, second is Air Canada.
Sorry should confirm that everything is booked on one ticket, my ticket says that the United airlines flight is a codeshare flight with Air Canada...
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, nothing with your bags.
I am traveling from Chicago on United in Jan 2018 with a layover in San Francisco then on to New Zealand. It is only a 49 min layover but I remain with United the entire trip, is that enough time? I have never been to SFO so unsure if this is possible. - Thanks
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Also it's likely that the times of your flights will change before January.
