XiamenAir History

XiamenAir, with the IATA code MF, is an airline based in Xiamen, China. It is a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines and operates both domestic and international flights. The airline has a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1984.

Originally known as Xiamen Airlines, the carrier started its operations on July 25, 1985, with its inaugural flight from Xiamen to Shenzhen. At that time, it had a fleet of only two Boeing 737-200 aircraft. However, with its commitment to providing excellent service and expanding its route network, XiamenAir quickly gained popularity among travelers.

Throughout the years, XiamenAir has experienced significant growth. It has continuously added new destinations to its network, both within China and internationally. The airline now serves over 70 domestic and international destinations, including major cities in Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.

XiamenAir has also made significant advancements in its fleet. It has gradually replaced its older aircraft with modern and fuel-efficient models. Currently, the airline operates a fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A321neo.

The airline's commitment to safety and customer satisfaction has been recognized through various awards and certifications. XiamenAir has consistently maintained a high level of safety standards and has received the "Five-Star Safety Rating" from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

In recent years, XiamenAir has focused on expanding its international presence. It has established partnerships with other airlines, allowing passengers to seamlessly connect to a wider range of destinations. The airline is also a member of the SkyTeam alliance, which further enhances its global reach.
