Willard Airport (CMI) Terminals
Airport Terminal Layout
CMI Airport, located in Savoy, Illinois, has a single terminal building with two concourses. The terminal is divided into two levels, with the lower level housing baggage claim and rental car counters, and the upper level hosting ticketing, security checkpoints, and the boarding gates.
Concourse A is located to the left of the terminal entrance and serves American Airlines and its regional partners. Concourse B is located to the right of the entrance and serves Delta Air Lines and its regional partners. The two concourses are connected by a central corridor that houses a variety of shops, restaurants, and services.
Overview of Terminals
Despite its small size, the airport offers a variety of amenities for travelers. The terminal building features a restaurant, a gift shop, and a newsstand, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the building. There are also several charging stations for electronic devices located throughout the terminal, and a business center with printing and faxing services is available for a fee.
Passengers can also take advantage of the airport's rental car services, which are located on the lower level of the terminal. There are several major rental car companies represented at CMI, including Avis, Budget, and Hertz.
Getting Between Terminals
Since Willard Airport only has a single terminal building, there is no need to worry about getting between terminals. However, passengers should be aware that the two concourses are located on opposite sides of the terminal, so it is important to check which concourse your flight is departing from before heading to the airport.
Food, Shops & Services
Champaign Airport may be a small airport, but it still offers a variety of food and shopping options for travelers. If you're feeling hungry, there are a few dining options available both before and after security. Pre-security, you can grab a quick bite at the Jetsetter Café, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After security, you can choose from a few different options, including the Fly Louie Bar & Grill, which offers a full menu of American fare, or the Coffee House, which serves up coffee, tea, and pastries.
As for shopping, there are a few stores to browse before your flight. The Fly A Boutique offers a variety of gifts, souvenirs, and travel essentials, while the Fly Louie Market sells snacks, drinks, and reading materials. If you're looking for amenities, the airport also offers free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and a business center with printing and faxing services.
While CMI Airport may not have as many food and shopping options as larger airports, it still provides travelers with the essentials and a few extra amenities to make their journey more comfortable.
Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
The airport has one security checkpoint located on the main level of the terminal building. Passengers are required to go through security screening before entering the gate area. The checkpoint is equipped with standard screening equipment, including X-ray machines and metal detectors. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
CMI does not currently offer fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, passengers who require special assistance or have medical conditions may request assistance from the TSA Cares program. This program provides additional support and expedited screening for eligible passengers.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
Willard Airport does not have international flights and therefore does not have passport and immigration control locations. All flights departing from Champaign Airport are domestic flights within the United States. However, passengers are still required to present valid government-issued identification, such as a driver's license or passport, at the security checkpoint and at the gate.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
CMI Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to enjoy expedited security screening, which means they can keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and their laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check application program. TSA Pre Check is available at select airports across the United States, including the airport.
Global Entry Locations
CMI does not have a Global Entry enrollment center on-site, but there are several locations nearby where passengers can apply for Global Entry. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To apply for Global Entry, passengers must complete an online application and schedule an interview at a Global Entry enrollment center. The closest Global Entry enrollment centers to Willard Airport are located in Chicago and Indianapolis. Airport Lounge Locations
Champaign Airport, located in Champaign, Illinois, offers a few options for travelers looking to relax before their flights. The airport has one lounge, the Illini Lounge, which is located on the second floor of the terminal. This lounge is open to all passengers and offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi.
While there are no airline-specific lounges at CMI Airport, passengers flying with American Airlines can access the Admirals Club lounge at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, which is about two hours away by car. The Admirals Club offers a variety of amenities, including complimentary snacks and beverages, free Wi-Fi, and shower facilities.
Baggage Claim Areas
The airport has two baggage claim areas located on the lower level of the terminal. Baggage claim area 1 is for American Airlines and Delta Airlines, while baggage claim area 2 is for United Airlines. Baggage carts are available in both areas for passengers to use.
Luggage Cart Availability
Luggage carts are available for use in both baggage claim areas of CMI. Passengers can easily locate them near the baggage carousels. The carts are free to use and can be returned to designated areas throughout the terminal.
Luggage Storage Locations
Willard Airport does not currently offer luggage storage or left luggage services. However, there are several options available for passengers who need to store their luggage. One option is to use a luggage storage service located offsite. Another option is to check with nearby hotels to see if they offer luggage storage for a fee. Passengers can also consider using a luggage lockers service located at nearby transportation hubs such as train or bus stations.
