Erie International Airport Map & Terminal Guide
Getting Around the Airport
Erie International Airport is located towards the southwest of Erie and is around five miles away from the Erie County of Pennsylvania. It is a public airport. The ERI airport faces a fair amount of competition from four other airports: Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Toronto airports. All of these airports are located at a time distance of less than 3 hours from Erie by car.
It is situated 206 km or 128 miles from Pittsburgh, 179 km or 111 miles from the Canada–US border, 153 km or 95 miles from Cleveland - Ohio and 169 km or 105 miles from Buffalo - New York.
The ERI Airport was USA’s third fastest growing airport in 2004 as well as the fastest-growing airport in Pennsylvania.
The name ‘Erie’ comes from the previous Pennsylvania governor and United States Secretary of Homeland Security, and Erie native Tom Ridge.
The terminal building structure at the ERI airport has one main terminal building which houses all airport facilities.
There is a Main Entrance / Exit at the centre, towards the left of which there are rental car options for National, AVIS, Enterprise, and Hertz. There is an Airport Business Centre right next to the entrance on the left, and a Pet Relief Area at the very right of this level. There is a Ground Transportation Courtesy Phone at the very left of this level.
After the entrance area, there are baggage claim carousels and a baggage screening area. In the centre there is a public awiting area, vending machines, and an ATM.
After that there is a security checkpoint leading to the passenger waiting area and terminal gates. Inside the terminal gate are 7 gates labelled Gate 1-7. Gate 3 is served by United, Gate 5 by Delta, and Gate 6 and 7 by American Airlines.
