Food, Shops & Services

Rockford Airport may be small, but it still offers a variety of food and shopping options for travelers. If you're feeling hungry, head to the airport's restaurant, Flight Deck Bar & Grill, which serves up classic American fare like burgers and sandwiches. Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

Chicago Rockford Airport has one security checkpoint located on the main level of the terminal building, near the entrance. Passengers are required to go through security screening before entering the gate area. The airport recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security process.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Chicago RFD Airport does not currently offer fast track lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers, allowing them to go through a dedicated security lane and keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, as well as leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. The TSA PreCheck lane is located at the main security checkpoint.

The airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints for the convenience of travelers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible passengers to enjoy expedited security screening, which means they can keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and leave their laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. Travelers who want to use TSA Pre Check must apply and be approved for the program. TSA Pre Check is available at the main checkpoint at RFD.
