Getting Around HEL Airport

HEL Airport operates with a single terminal, which simplifies navigation for travelers. The terminal is divided into different gate areas based on flight destinations. Gates 11–34 cater to domestic flights and flights to European Schengen countries, while gates 34–55 handle long-haul and European non-Schengen flights. This layout ensures that passengers can easily find their way to the appropriate gate based on their destination.

Signage throughout the terminal is multilingual, including English, Finnish, Swedish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian, making it accessible for international travelers. The terminal is well-equipped with various passenger amenities such as tax-free shops, dining options, and playrooms for children. Additionally, there are several lounges, including the Finnair Lounge in the Schengen area and the Finnair Premium Lounge in the non-Schengen area, providing comfortable spaces for relaxation.

For ease of movement, the terminal features a passenger tracking system that monitors crowd congestion, helping to prevent bottlenecks. Free wireless Internet access, power sockets, and transfer service desks are available to assist travelers. Other facilities include car rental services, currency exchange, ATMs, and a grocery store, ensuring that all essential needs are met within the terminal.
