Hobart International Airport HBA serves the large island of Tasmania (on Frederick Henry Bay), and its capital city of Hobard - part of the Commonwealth of Australia - and located off the south-eastern tip of the Continent. It is Australia's fastest-growing airport.
HBA Airport is located in Cambridge, 17 km northeast of Hobart. It can be reached indirectly via B31 Richmond Road, running into A3 Tasman Hwy, which direct exits (Strachan Street) to the Airport. (Motorway A3 runs west , via the bridge over Derwent River, to Hobart City.
With one runway and 2.3 million passengers in 2016, Hobart International Airport is hub to Skytraders (serving Antarctica-Casey Station) and is served by a number of domestic & international airlines offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe.

NOTE: If picking up a passenger of (a) Virgin Australia or Tigerair - arrive at the northern end of the terminal, (b) Qantas & Jetstar - arrive at the southern end of the terminal.
Hobart Airport has one passenger terminal, combining domestic and international operations. The check-in area with check-in desks is in the center (it also has an oversize baggage check-in facility). Note that ALL persons proceeding through to the Departure Lounge need to undergo security screening. After security check is a cafe surrounded by the departures lounge.
To the right of the Departures lounge is the Qantas Club and a separate area for Qantas & JetStar arrivals.
To the left of the check-in area is an Information desk, Virgin & Tiger Arrivals area, and International Departures.
Shops and cafes are mainly in the center.
Virgin & Tiger arrivals use baggage claims 1 & 2, while Qantas and Jetstar arrivals use baggage claim 3 - both on the lwer level. Nearby is the Qantas Lounge entry.
- The Saffire Lounge is at the west end of the terminal, adjacent to the Information counter.
- The Qantas Club is east of the terminal, adjacent to the Airport Administration.
The rental car building is outside of the terminal's ground level; reached by walkway.
Current and future Airport developments: The First Phase of the Airport's $25M terminal redevelopment is scheduled to be completed by 2018 (some projects may already have been completed):
- The $25 million terminal expansion project will more than double its departure space and will offer international passenger processing. The terminal will offer a boutique Tasmanian experience, offering authentic Tasmanian food & drink and retail products.
- The 500 meter runway extension improves Australia’s air link to Antarctica.
