Getting Around the Airport
Wilmington New Castle Airport is also called the New Castle Airport or New Castle County Airport. It can be found situated in the unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, near Wilmington, Delaware.
The ILG airport is currently under the ownership of New Castle County and operated under contract by the Delaware River and Bay Authority. The airport is located at a distance of five miles or eight km towards the south of Wilmington and close to 30 miles or 50 km from Philadelphia.
The ILG airport is a non-hub primary commercial service airport which has become a part of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021.
In the year 2011, the ILG airport recorded the highest number of passenger boardings standing at 642 passengers. In 2012, this increased to a remarkable 1,064 passenger boardings.

Terminal Tips
- Passengers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to account for TSA security wait times and any possible delays.
- To ensure a smooth check-in process, passengers should pack carry-on luggage in a suitable manner, have photo ID ready, and read all the airline guidelines properly prior to arriving at the airport.
- No unattended baggage will be allowed inside the terminal building. You must keep your bags with you at all times.
