Airport Terminal Layout

Philadelphia International Airport, also known as PHL, has a total of six terminals: Terminal A, Terminal B, Terminal C, Terminal D, Terminal E, and Terminal F. Each terminal is designed to serve a specific set of airlines and destinations. The airport's layout is easy to navigate, with clear signage and helpful staff to assist passengers.

Terminal A serves American Airlines and American Eagle flights, while Terminal B serves Delta Air Lines and Delta Connection flights. Terminal C serves Alaska Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and United Airlines flights. Terminal D serves Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airways, Icelandair, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and WestJet flights. Lastly, Terminal F serves Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines flights.

Overview of Terminals

Philadelphia International Airport's terminals offer a variety of services and amenities for travelers. Each terminal has a range of dining options, from fast food to sit-down restaurants, as well as shops and boutiques for last-minute souvenirs or travel essentials. The airport also provides free Wi-Fi throughout all terminals, charging stations, and lounges for passengers who need to relax before their flight.

Terminal A is the smallest terminal, with only 7 gates, while Terminal C is the largest, with 31 gates. Terminals B, D, E, and F each have between 15-20 gates. All terminals have restrooms, ATMs, and information desks to assist passengers.

Getting Between Terminals

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

Philly Airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout its terminals. Terminal A has two checkpoints, one near Gate A1 and another near Gate A15. Terminal B has three checkpoints, one near Gate B1, another near Gate B16, and a third near Gate B25. Terminal C has two checkpoints, one near Gate C16 and another near Gate C31. Terminal D has one checkpoint near Gate D10. Terminal E has two checkpoints, one near Gate E3 and another near Gate E17. Terminal F has one checkpoint near Gate F14. Passengers are advised to arrive early and allow ample time for security screening.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

PHL offers a TSA PreCheck program for expedited security screening. Passengers who are enrolled in the program can use the designated TSA PreCheck lanes located at each security checkpoint. Additionally, some airlines offer their own fast track lanes for their premium passengers. These lanes are typically located near the regular security checkpoints and are marked with signage. Passengers should check with their airline to see if they are eligible for the fast track lanes.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

Passport and immigration control at Philadelphia Airport is located in Terminal A-West, Terminal B, and Terminal C. International arriving passengers will go through customs and immigration at Terminal A-West, while departing international passengers will go through security and passport control at Terminal A-East. Terminal B has a separate international arrivals area for passengers arriving from Canada. Terminal C has a separate immigration area for passengers arriving from countries with preclearance agreements with the United States. Passengers should follow the signs and directions provided by airport staff to ensure a smooth and efficient process through passport and immigration control.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Philadelphia Airport has multiple TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport. Global Entry is a program that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to enjoy expedited clearance upon arrival in the United States. To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and attend an in-person interview at a Global Entry enrollment center. the airport has a Global Entry enrollment center located in Terminal A-West, which makes it easy for travelers to apply for the program before their flight.

Airport Lounge Locations

Philly Airport offers a variety of lounges for travelers to relax and unwind before their flights. The American Airlines Admirals Club is located in Terminal A-West, near gate A15. This lounge offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi. The Delta Sky Club is located in Terminal D, near gate D6. This lounge features a full bar, snacks, and Wi-Fi. The United Club is located in Terminal E, near gate E6. This lounge offers snacks, beverages, and Wi-Fi.

In addition to these major airline lounges, PHL also has a few independent lounges. Minute Suites is located in Terminal A-East, near gate A2. This lounge offers private suites for travelers to rest and relax, as well as a business center and Wi-Fi. The PHL Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal A-West, near gate A14. Baggage Claim Areas

Passengers can find their respective baggage claim area by checking the monitors located throughout the airport or by asking airport staff for assistance. Baggage carts are available in the baggage claim areas for passengers to use to transport their luggage to their next destination.

Luggage Cart Availability

Luggage carts are available for passengers to use throughout Philadelphia Airport. These carts can be found in the baggage claim areas, parking garages, and near the entrances of each terminal. There is a fee to use the carts, which can be paid using cash or credit card. Passengers can also use their own luggage carts if they prefer.

Luggage Storage Locations (Left Luggage)

PHL Airport does not offer left luggage services. However, there are several luggage storage options available near the airport, including luggage storage facilities and hotels that offer luggage storage for a fee. Passengers can also consider using luggage shipping services to transport their luggage to their destination without having to carry it with them.
