Airport Terminal Layout

PIT Airport has two main terminals: Landside Terminal and Airside Terminal. The Landside Terminal is where passengers check-in for their flight, and the Airside Terminal is where passengers go through security and board their flight. The two terminals are connected by an underground people mover, which makes it easy for passengers to get between the two terminals.

The Landside Terminal at the airport is home to ticketing counters, baggage claim, and ground transportation services. It also has a variety of dining and shopping options for passengers to enjoy before or after their flight. The Airside Terminal is where passengers go through security and board their flight. Getting Between Terminals

As mentioned earlier, the two terminals at PIT are connected by an underground people mover, which makes it easy for passengers to get between the two terminals. The people mover runs 24/7 and is free to use. It takes approximately five minutes to travel between the two terminals, so passengers should plan accordingly if they have a tight connection. Additionally, there are moving walkways and elevators available for passengers who need assistance getting between the terminals.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

The airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport terminals. The main security checkpoint is located in the Center Core of the Landside Terminal, accessible from the Ticketing Level. There are also additional security checkpoints located in Concourses A, B, and C, which can be accessed from the corresponding gate areas.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Fast Track lanes are available for eligible passengers at PIT. These lanes are located at the main security checkpoint in the Center Core of the Landside Terminal, as well as at the security checkpoints in Concourses A, B, and C. Eligible passengers include those with TSA PreCheck, CLEAR, or Global Entry status, as well as first class and business class passengers on select airlines.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

Passport and immigration control is located in the Airside Terminal of Pittsburgh Airport. Upon arrival, passengers will proceed to the Federal Inspection Station, which is located on the lower level of the Airside Terminal. Here, passengers will go through customs and immigration before proceeding to baggage claim and ground transportation.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Pittsburgh Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible passengers to go through a faster security screening process, without having to remove shoes, belts, and light jackets. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, passengers must apply and be approved for the program. TSA Pre Check is available at select security checkpoints throughout the airport.

Global Entry Locations

PIT Airport is an official Global Entry enrollment center, allowing travelers to apply for the program and complete their interview on-site. Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. The Global Entry enrollment center is located in the International Arrivals area of the airport. Applicants must complete an online application and schedule an appointment for an in-person interview at the enrollment center.

Airport Lounge Locations

Pittsburgh International Airport offers several lounges for travelers to relax and unwind before their flight. The American Airlines Admirals Club is located in Concourse B, near gate B25. This lounge offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi. The United Club is located in Concourse C, near gate C54. This lounge also offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi.

In addition to airline lounges, the airport also has a common use lounge called The Club at PIT. This lounge is located in Concourse C, near gate C52. It offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi. The lounge also has a business center and shower facilities for travelers who need to freshen up before their flight.

Baggage Claim Areas

Upon arrival at the airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim areas. The airport has four baggage claim carousels located in the lower level of the Landside Terminal. Each carousel is designated for a specific airline, making it easy for passengers to find their luggage. The baggage claim areas are well-lit and equipped with seating for passengers waiting for their luggage. Additionally, there are baggage carts available for passengers to use free of charge.

Luggage Cart Availability

PIT offers luggage carts free of charge to passengers. The carts are available in the baggage claim areas and throughout the Landside Terminal. Passengers can easily spot the carts as they are labeled with the airport logo. The carts are well-maintained and easy to maneuver, making it easy for passengers to transport their luggage throughout the airport. If a passenger needs assistance with their luggage, airport staff is available to help.

Luggage Storage Locations

Pittsburgh Airport does not offer luggage storage or left luggage services. However, there are several options available for passengers who need to store their luggage. One option is to use a luggage storage service located off-site. These services offer secure storage for luggage and are often located near the airport. Another option is to use a luggage storage locker service. These lockers are available at some train stations and bus terminals. Passengers can store their luggage in a locker for a fee and retrieve it at a later time. It is recommended that passengers research and book these services in advance to ensure availability.
