For international flights it is advisable to arrive at the Airport 3 hrs prior to scheduled departure. Note that during Summer 2016 departing passengers had to wait in long lines for security check (for lack of sufficient personnell).
Santo Domingo Las Americas Airport has a 3-level Main Passenger Terminal - divided with 'terminals'' A & B and the Cruise Terminal:
Level 1 is the Arrivals Level with baggage claim, tourist & rental car desks.
Level 2 is the Departures level and is divided into:
Terminal A (South) with airline counters, shops & services & a concourse to satellite gates A1-A7 (A7 is for American Eagle).
Terminal B (North) with gates B1-B5 & boarding bridges; it houses the 'Copa Club' (operated jointly by United & Copa airlines) and a Private Lounge exclusively to members and business travelers. (TB is a new terminal).

Level 3 houses a food court and some offices.
NEW: A new biometric access control system is now in place.
Amenities and services inside the terminal complex: Banking services by Banco de Reservas on Levels 1 & 2 (Terminal A), Global Exchange at terminals A & B, ATM machines on Level 1 (Banco desl Progreso, Banco de Reservas, Banco Popular & Banco Leon), mail service, VIP section, internet access, shops & duty-free shops, restaurants, cafes & bars, a luggage-wrapping facility, and an arcade for children & adults on Levels 1& 3 of the food courts. A tourist card for a max. of 30 days at about US $10 is available to the right of the Immigration entrance.
Rental car counters at Las Americas Airport are located at the exit door after Customs, near Terminal B.
