Cell Phone Waiting Area at Sunport
The Albuquerque International Sunport has now a free "Cell Phone Waiting Area" for use by the general public. Meeters and greeters at the airport can now park in the lot and wait for a call from their arriving passenger before driving to the front of the terminal for pickup. Please note: you must remain with your vehicle at all times while in the cell phone waiting area.
ABQ also offers two free Aircraft Observation Areas that can serve as cell phone waiting lots. One is on Girard just east of the terminal, near the primary cell phone waiting area. The second is south of the terminal on Spirit Drive, just east of University. We hope that you find these free waiting areas useful and value any input your may have regarding them.
The four-level parking terminal next to the ABQ terminal, with covered access and open 24 hrs/day, has space for 3,400 cars on an hourly basis. There are 500 spaces available in the Long Term Surface Lot. The safe, well-lit facility is patrolled by the Aviation Police.
