SYR Airport is near the town of Mattydale, and only 4.6 miles northeast of the city of Syracuse, situated in Onondaga County, and is within three miles of intersecting Interstate Hwys 81 and 90 (the New York Throughway) - with direct access to Airport parking, curbside driving lanes for quick drop off/pick up and curbside baggage check-in.
With 1.9M passengers in 2016, and two long runways, Syracuse Hancock Airport is served by major airlines offering nonstop flights to destinations in the U.S. and Canada, with convenient connecting flights. While the Airort is open 24/7, TSA checkpoint opens 4am and closes 9pm. Office hours are 8am-5pm weekdays.
It is requested by the Airport that passengers contact their airline as to flight cancelations.
Also, please arrive at the check-in counters no later than 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure.
The on-Airport Inn-Best Western (315-455-7362) is within walking distance of the terminal complex and has its own parking facility.

Present and future Airport developments: As of late August 2017, work commenced on the 45M renovation project project, which is to include a new facade, new bathrooms, more naural lighting, and a new pedestrian bridge connecting to the parking garage. The road in front of the terminal is to close and signage will redirect visitors. the Airport will provide updates on social media. Construction is to be completed within an 18-24 months span (Feb - Aug 2019).
- Improvements are to completely transform terminal interior & exterior (removal of current canopy drop-off area in front of the terminal for more sunlight in the passenger exchange area, a glass pedestiran bridge enabling passengers to skip ticket hall, and an open design in the new Grand Hall.The facade will receive a glass curtain wall and two restrooms will be renovated. Other improvements will involve repavement of Colonel Eileen Collins Blvd.; traffic lane reconfiguration between terminal & garage; new canopy replacement; new Grand Hall with expanded concessions, renovated restrooms and new ticket counters.
