Getting Around WLG Airport

The airport operates a single terminal divided into three piers: south, south-west, and north-west. The main terminal building houses a common check-in area on the first floor and a baggage claim area on the ground floor. Both areas connect to a retail and refreshment zone on the first floor, which also offers views of the runway. This layout allows travelers to navigate between check-in, security, and boarding gates with ease.

To help you find your gate, note the following:

  • South Pier: Gates 3 to 12 serve regional aircraft.
  • Main Terminal: Gates 18 to 20 also serve regional aircraft.
  • South-West Pier: Gates 13 to 17 are mainly used by Air New Zealand domestic jets, with all gates except Gate 14 featuring jetbridges.
  • North-West Pier: Gates 21 to 29 serve Jetstar domestic jets and all international flights. These gates are renumbered as Gates 41 to 49 when used for international flights.

For lounge access, Air New Zealand operates three lounges: the Regional Lounge on the second floor for regional travelers, the Domestic Lounge in the south-west pier for domestic travelers, and the International Lounge in the north-west pier for international travelers. Qantas also has a lounge in the north-west pier, available to Qantas Club members on international flights. Navigating between these areas is straightforward, with clear signage throughout the terminal.
