Dubai World Central Airport DWC (the former Al Mactum Airport)- serving the greater Dubai area of the United Arab Emirates - opened in October 2013. The new passenger terminal is surrounded by 'DWC World Central'', covering the entire areas between E311 Moammed Bin Zayed Road and E611 Emirates Road /Dubai Bypass. DWC is the world’s first integrated logistics platform, with value-added services, such as manufacturing & assembly, in a single bonded free-zone environment, offering links to all of the country’s main motorways, and a future GCC high speed rail network and the Airport.
Dubai World Central Airport DWC is located in Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dubai World Central Airport's ongoing expansion work will reach a capacity of 26 million passenger annuall by 2018, and continue expansion work thereafter for some years to come, when it is to become the world’s largest passenger & cargo hub airport and is to complement the Dubai International DXB Airport - 40 km away - which will be linked by a high-speed train.
With 850,633 passengers in 2016 (twice the 2015 count and expected to double each year thereafter), and a 4,500 meter runway (and upon completion, a total of three runways of the same size), the Airport will accomodate large aircraft like the Airbus A380.
The new passenger terminal - 'Dubai World Central Terminal' - with a single level and covering an area of 66,000 square meters - is currently able to accommodate five million passengers annually (but is expandable to 7M), It is served by an A380-capable runway and 64 remote aircraft stands and offers full retail & food concessions, as well as free high-speed WiFi service. The terminal offers the very latest in technology,

DWC Airport is to be spread over an area of 56 sq.km, and is to eventually accommodate over 200 million passenger a year.
