Airport Overview
Baton Rouge BTR is located four miles (7km) north of Baton Rouge's central business district in Louisiana, United States. The airport is spread over an area of 1800 acres and has three concrete and asphalt runways.
The US Army Air Forces used Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, earlier known as the Harding Army Air Field as a supply and maintenance base. The airport was named in honor of Lieutenant William Harding, who died in a plane crash in 1936.

Short-Term & Long-Term Parking
The parking facility at BTR airport is in front of the terminal. The garage parking has three levels, among which the first two levels are covered, and the top-level is uncovered. The economy parking has limited covered spaces.
- The garage parking is $12 per day for 24 hours and $1 per half hour thereof.
- The economy parking is $9 per day for 24 hours and $2 per hour thereof.
Off-Site Parking

Baton Rouge Airport: A Brief History Timeline
- The Baton Rouge Army Airfield was officially named the Harding Field on January 22, 1942, after Lieutenant William Harding.
- Harding Field was used as a training base for four years for fighter pilots during World War II.
- In August of 1948, Harding Field was turned into a pubic airport to serve the area of Baton Rouge Metropolitan.
- Currently, BTR airport serves MSA to more than 830,000 people.
