Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

Passengers departing from the airport will find security checkpoints located at the entrance of each terminal. There are two terminals at the airport, and each terminal has its own security checkpoint. The security checkpoints are equipped with the latest technology to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for security screening.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

BTR offers Fast Track lanes for passengers who want to expedite their security screening process. The Fast Track lanes are located at both terminals, and they are available to passengers who have TSA PreCheck or CLEAR membership. These lanes are designed to provide a faster and more efficient security screening process for eligible passengers. Passengers who are not eligible for Fast Track lanes can still use the regular security lanes.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

Passengers arriving at Baton Rouge Airport from international destinations will go through passport and immigration control at the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) area. The CBP area is located in the baggage claim area of the terminal. Passengers will need to present their passport and other required documents to the CBP officers for inspection. After clearing passport and immigration control, passengers can proceed to the baggage claim area to collect their luggage.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Baton Rouge Airport has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints to ensure the safety and security of all passengers. TSA Pre Check is a program that allows eligible passengers to enjoy expedited screening at security checkpoints. This program is available for U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents. TSA Pre Check members are not required to remove their shoes, belts, and light jackets during the screening process. They can also keep their laptops and liquids inside their carry-on bags. Passengers who wish to enroll in TSA Pre Check can apply online or in-person at an enrollment center.

Global Entry Locations

BTR Airport is not a Global Entry Enrollment Center, but there are several locations nearby where travelers can apply for Global Entry. Global Entry is a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Members of Global Entry can use automated kiosks to complete their customs declaration and biometric verification. To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and schedule an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. The nearest enrollment centers to the airport are located in New Orleans and Houston.

CLEAR Lane Locations

CLEAR is a biometric identity verification service that allows you to skip the long security lines at the airport. At the airport, CLEAR services are available at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. With CLEAR, you can breeze through security in just a few minutes using your face or fingerprint as your boarding pass.

Airport Lounge Locations

BTR offers a few lounges for travelers to relax and unwind before their flights. The Delta Sky Club is located in the main terminal near Gate 4 and offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi. The United Club is also located in the main terminal near Gate 2 and offers similar amenities for United Airlines passengers.

In addition to airline lounges, there is also The Club at BTR located in the post-security area of the main terminal. This lounge is open to all travelers for a fee and offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and free Wi-Fi. It is a great option for those who do not have access to an airline lounge or for those who want to try something different.

Upon arrival at Baton Rouge Airport, passengers can easily locate the baggage claim area. The airport has two baggage claim carousels located in the main terminal building. The facility is open 24/7 and offers secure storage for luggage of all sizes. The facility is easily accessible by taxi or public transportation from the airport. Passengers can also opt to store their luggage at their hotel if they are staying in the city. Most hotels offer luggage storage for their guests, either free of charge or for a nominal fee.
