From HAN Airport to your destination: Taxis takes about 40 minutes to city-center; the fee is fixed, which includes toll charges. Airport-authorized taxi drivers always display their license with their photo and name on the taximeter.
Airport minibuses only leave when full. Both minibuses and taxis park right in front of the airport exit gate. Three companies operate several kinds of taxis and minibuses with nearly the same fare structure.
Currently Jetstar, Kumho Viet Thanh, & Vietnam Airlines provide their own minibuses to the city.
Buses: The bus stop for Hanoi city buses 07 & 17, connecting the Airport with the city-center, is just to the right of the terminal exit. The bus trip takes about an hour, and buses run 5am-10pm. Note that passengers with oversized luggage are often denied entry.

- Bus 17 connects to the Long Bien bus station, which is near the Old Quarter.
- Bus 90 connects to Hanoi City Center's Kim Ma Station, taking 55 minutes & costing only $0.42 /VND 9,000.
- The frequently running new Express Bus with free WiFi (color: white,yellow,red) offers service to Hanoi city center and its railway station has 8 stops and coincide with local bus services. Departure times are from the Airport beween 6:30am & 11:30pm; and from the Hanoi railway station 5:10am & 10:30pm at the Hanoi railway station. The trip takes 50-55 minutes and costs US$1.35.
