Kelowna International Airport YLW - one of the top-ten airports in Canada - serves the Kelowna and Okanagan region of British Columbia.
YLW Airport is located 11.5 km northeast of Kelowna, accessible by Highway 97. It is situated along the shores of beautiful Okanagan Lake, and mid-way between Penticton to the south and Vernon to the north, and only 77 miles from the US Border.
With 1.7 million passengers in 2016 and one runway, Kelowna International is served by a number of commercial and charter airlines with daily and seasonal services, and direct and connecting flights to all parts of the globe.

The recently expanded passenger terminal with 8 airline gates houses a glass rotunda with a fountain and the 'Escape from Stella Polaris' glass sculpture. The terminal is open 24/7. Amenities and services inside the terminal:
Level 1 is divided into three sections:
- The western end of the terminal is the Arrivals area. Near Gate 1 is the international oversized baggage claim, across from it Canada Border Service and the International baggage claim carousel. Outside of this secure area is access near gate 2 to Domestic Arrivals, with a Tourist information desk in the center, currency, phones & baggage carts, domestic baggage claim, rental car counters, Airport security, baggage service and terminal exit.
- The center of level 1 is the check-in area, which houses Tim Hortons, Shutt CMP, Airport Ambassadors desk, Skyway Gift & News - leading to the check-in counters on either side of the center.
- The eastern end of level 1 is the departure area, which houses the Skyway Atrium Lounge leading to the stairway/ escalator and to CATSA pre-board screening. Adjacent to it is 'White Spot' restaurant/bar, followed by a a few shops, including duty-free in the Depature Lounge and access to boarding gates 4-8 (east) and 3-1 (west). NOTE: The departure lounge improvement project has now been completed and includes upgrades of retail outlets and business center, while adding a new Kids' Zone. Ongoing improvements include two new restaurants, a wine-themed bar, upgrades to the White Spot kitchen & seating areas.
Level 2 houses Passport control office & Airport Administration at east, a public Observation Lounge in the center, and Airport Development with adjacent Airport Duty Manager at west.
To pick up a passenger at the airport, arrange to have your passenger call you when ready for pickup. Park in the short-term lot, turn off your engine and wait until you get your call for pickup at the terminal's curb.
Parking options include short- & long-term lots (free for first 15 mins.) with 2,600 parking spaces, valet parking & curbside metered parking.
Current and future Airport developments: Ongoing construction on the Airport modernization project involves phased expansion of baggage hall & apron, adding two Code C aircraft stands, renovating departure lounge, and upgrading Airport Plaza area (with a new gas station & convenience store). Completion is scheduled for 2018.
