Getting Around the Airport
Newport News Williamsburg International Airport serves the greater areas of the cities of Williamsburg, Hampton, Norfork, Richmond, Virginia Beach, as well as the North Carolina's Outer Banks.
PHF Airport is located on the Chesapeake Bay, at Interstate Hwy. 64, Exit 255B (Jefferson Ave/Route 143) in the city of Newport News, State of Virginia.
With 2 runways and an 411,477passengers in 2016, Newport News Airport is presently served by some regular and low-cost airlines offering nonstop flights to U.S. hub cities with worldwide connections.
The terminal building structure at the PHF airport has one main terminal building which houses all airport facilities.
There are three main entrances to the terminal building which lead to the airline ticketing counters on the right and baggage claim towards the left. Next to the airline ticketing counters are Meeting Rooms, Baby Changing Area, Mother’s Nursing Room, USO, Vending Machines, and Female Restroom. There is an ATM, Airport Security, Administration Office, and another Female Restroom next across the baggage claim.
A security checkpoint leads to the terminal gate areas. This houses the terminal gates labelled as Gate A1-A6 and Gate B1-B7. There is an ATM, Vending Machines, Female Restroom, and Food/Concessions inside the terminal gate area.

Food, Shops & Amenities
There are various shopping and dining options in the PHF airport. For dining there is TakePHFlight and Vending Options. For shopping there are limited options available at the PHF airport.
- Passengers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to account for TSA security wait times and any possible delays.
- To ensure a smooth check-in process, passengers should pack carry-on luggage in a suitable manner, have photo ID ready, and read all the airline guidelines properly prior to arriving at the airport.
- No unattended baggage will be allowed inside the terminal building. You must keep your bags with you at all times.
