Getting Around the Airport
Portland Jetport International Airport is the Airport in the State of Maine (not the Airport in Oregon!). It is mostly referred to as 'Jetport' and is open 24/7, however ticket counters open 5am (some open Sundays at 6am). Jetport is a modern airport that has retained a small-town Maine atmosphere. Compared to large & hectic Boston Airport, Jetport is offering more affordable airfares. ACI bestowed on Jetport 'Best North American Airport' of its size. Conde Nast considers it as one of the best airports in the U.S.
PWM Airport is only a 15-minute drive from the city of Portland (Maine), and is situated between the Maine Tpk I-95, I-295, and Congress Street & Western Avenue.
Main Terminal
The terminal building structure at the PWM airport has one main terminal with three levels.
Level 1 houses Ticketing and Baggage. It has baggage claim, AEDs, restrooms, payphones, water fountain, and elevators/escalators. You can find a Visitor Information counter in the baggage claim area.
Level 2 houses Flight Gates. It has AEDs, restrooms, payphones, water bottle filling station, water fountain, and elevators/escalators. A Lactation Room is made available on Concourse Level between Gates 5 and 6.
Level 3 house Security and Skybridge. It has AEDs, restrooms, payphones, pet relief area, water bottle filling station, water fountain, and elevators/escalators.
ATMs are available at three locations inside the terminal: in the baggage claim area, in the ticketing area, and at Gate 6. Right next to the escalator on Level 1 you can find Currency Exchange in the Ticketing area.
The airport has art displays for the passengers as well. There are “Tiny Giants” displaying on the Concourse Level at Gate 7 and “Sculptures” at Level 3 Skybridge.
Free WiFi is available at all areas inside the terminal.

Food, Shops & Amenities
There are various shopping and dining options inside the airport.
For dining there is Great American Bagel at Gate 4, Shipyard Brewport at Gate 5, Starbucks at Gate 7, Burger King at Gate 9, and Linda Bean Maine Lobster Cafe at Gate 10.
For shopping there is Downeast Marketplace/Cool As A Moose at Gate 6, CNBC Portland at Gate 3, and Best Buy Express at Gate 9.
Terminal Tips
- Passengers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to account for TSA security wait times and any possible delays.
- To ensure a smooth check-in process, passengers should pack carry-on luggage in a suitable manner, have photo ID ready, and read all the airline guidelines properly prior to arriving at the airport.
- No unattended baggage will be allowed inside the terminal building. You must keep your bags with you at all times.
