Getting Around the Airport

Providence Green Airport is a public international airport in Warwick, Rhode Island, United States. It is operated by the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.

PVD is located 6 miles (5.2 nmi; 9.7 km) south of the state's capital and largest city of Providence. It covers an area of 1,111 acres (450 ha).

Main Terminal

The main terminal at the PVD Airport is a two-story building with two concourses on the second level: South Concourse and North Concourse.

Level 1 is the Arrivals level and houses baggage claim and ground transportation options.

Level 2 is the Departures level and houses ticketing counters and a security checkpoint leading to the two concourses providing access to the gate areas.

South Concourse

The South Concourse has nine gates labelled as Gates 1, 1A, 2-8. Gates seven and eight are designed for international arrivals and are directly connected to customs, which is on the lower level of the concourse.

It is served by American Airlines at Gates 3/4/5/6, Frontier Airlines at Gates 2/7, Air Canada at Gates 2/7/8, and Souther Airways at Gate 1.

Near Gate 1A there is first aid and male/female restrooms. Between gates 6 and 7 there are shopping and dining options. Across gate 7 there is an exit to baggage claim and ground transportation options. Elevators/escalators can be found near gate 8.

North Concourse

The North Concourse has 14 gates labelled as Gates 9-22.

It is served by Delta at Gates 16/18, Southwest at Gates 15/17/19/21, United at Gates 9/10/11, JetBlue at Gate 12, and Allegiant, Air Canada, and Sun Country Airlines at Gates 14/22.

Across Gate 10 there is a Best Buy kiosk and across Gate 11 is a Pet Relief Area. Between Gates 10-12 you can find various shopping options and there are dining options between Gates 14-16. There is first aid and male/female restrooms adjacent to Gate 15 and another adjacent to Gate 17. Near this Gate you will also find elevators/escalators.

Food, Shops & Amenities

There are various shopping and dining options inside both concourse areas of the airport.

South Concourse has Wolfgang Puck Express for dining. For shopping there is Federal Hill News, Explore! Rhode Island, and Heritage Booksellers along with other options.

North Concourse has Dunkin' Donuts and Providence Provisions Kitchen & Bar for dining. For shopping there is Brooks Brothers, Ocean State Travel Mart, and Gineva Murano Glass Jewelry, along with other options.

Terminal Tips

  • Passengers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours before their scheduled departure time to account for TSA security wait times and any possible delays.
  • To ensure a smooth check-in process, passengers should pack carry-on luggage in a suitable manner, have photo ID ready, and read all the airline guidelines properly prior to arriving at the airport.
  • No unattended baggage will be allowed inside the terminal building. You must keep your bags with you at all times.
