Airport Terminal Layout

ATL Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world and has a total of 7 terminals, including the Domestic Terminal and 6 concourses labeled A-F. The Domestic Terminal is located in the center of the airport and is connected to the concourses via an underground pedestrian walkway. Concourse T is located on the west side of the airport and is connected to the Domestic Terminal via a SkyTrain, which runs 24/7.

Concourses A-D are located on the east side of the airport and Concourses E and F are located on the west side. Each concourse has its own security checkpoint and baggage claim area. Concourse F is the newest addition to the airport and is exclusively used by Delta airlines.

Overview of Terminals

The Domestic Terminal is the hub of the airport and serves passengers traveling within the United States. It is home to a variety of restaurants, shops, and services, including a Delta Sky Club lounge. Concourse T serves international flights and has its own customs and immigration facilities. Concourses A-F serve a variety of airlines and destinations.

Getting Between Terminals

To get between the Domestic Terminal and Concourse T, passengers can take the SkyTrain, which runs every 2-3 minutes and takes approximately 5 minutes to travel between terminals. To get between the concourses, passengers can use the underground pedestrian walkway or take the Plane Train, which runs inside the airport and stops at each concourse. The Plane Train runs 24/7 and is one of the fastest ways to get between the concourses.

Food, Shops & Services

The airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and it offers a wide variety of food and shopping options for travelers. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, you'll find plenty of options in the airport's terminals.

For food and shopping, the airport has a range of options that cater to all tastes and budgets. From fast food chains to upscale restaurants, you'll find everything you need to satisfy your hunger. There are also plenty of shops selling everything from souvenirs to luxury goods, so you can pick up a last-minute gift or treat yourself to something special.

In addition to food and shopping, the airport offers a range of amenities to make your travel experience as comfortable as possible. There are lounges where you can relax and unwind, as well as charging stations and free Wi-Fi throughout the terminals. If you need to freshen up, there are also shower facilities available for a fee.

Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)

Hartsfield Airport has multiple security checkpoints located throughout the airport. The domestic terminal has three security checkpoints: North, South, and Main. The international terminal has two security checkpoints: West and East. In addition, each concourse has at least one security checkpoint. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time to pass through security.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

Passengers who are members of TSA PreCheck or Global Entry can use the fast track lanes at ATL Hartsfield. These lanes are located at all security checkpoints throughout the airport. In addition, there are also dedicated TSA PreCheck lanes at the North and South security checkpoints in the domestic terminal. Passengers who are not members of these programs can apply for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry to enjoy the benefits of the fast track lanes.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

The passport and immigration control locations at ATL are located in the international terminal. Passengers arriving from international destinations will go through passport control and customs before exiting the airport. The international terminal has two passport control areas: West and East. Passengers are advised to have all necessary travel documents ready and to allow enough time to pass through passport control and customs.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport has multiple TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints located throughout the airport. These checkpoints are designed to help expedite the security screening process for passengers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible passengers to move through security checkpoints without removing shoes, belts, and light jackets, and without having to remove laptops and liquids from their carry-on bags. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for the security screening process.

Global Entry Locations

Atlanta Airport is one of the many airports in the United States that offers Global Entry enrollment. Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. To enroll in Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application, undergo a background check, and complete an in-person interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. The Global Entry Enrollment Center at ATL Airport is located in the International Terminal, Concourse F. It is recommended that travelers schedule an appointment in advance to avoid long wait times.

CLEAR Lane Locations

CLEAR is a service that provides expedited security screening for travelers at the airport. CLEAR members can bypass the regular security lines and use a dedicated lane for a quicker and more efficient screening process. CLEAR Plus members can also bring a guest with them through the CLEAR lane.

CLEAR Plus lanes are located in the following terminal(s):

  • Domestic Terminal North
  • Domestic Terminal South
  • Main Terminal

Airport Lounge Locations

Hartsfield Airport offers a variety of lounges for travelers to relax and unwind before their flights. The Delta Sky Club is located in Concourse A, B, C, D, and T, and offers comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The American Airlines Admirals Club is located in Concourse T, and provides similar amenities such as comfortable seating and complimentary snacks and beverages.

For those traveling internationally, the Club at ATL is located in Concourse F, and offers a variety of amenities such as shower facilities, a business center, and complimentary food and beverages. The United Club is located in Concourse T, and provides comfortable seating, complimentary snacks and beverages, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Lastly, the Delta Sky Club in Concourse E offers similar amenities to the other Delta Sky Clubs, such as comfortable seating and complimentary snacks and beverages.

Baggage Claim Areas

ATL Hartsfield has multiple baggage claim areas located in each concourse. The baggage claim areas are easily accessible and well-marked with signs. Passengers can find their baggage carousel number on the flight information display screens located throughout the airport. Baggage carts are available for use in the baggage claim areas.

Luggage Cart Availability

Luggage carts are available for use throughout ATL. Passengers can find luggage carts in the baggage claim areas, parking garages, and near the entrances of each concourse. The cost to rent a luggage cart is $6, and payment can be made using cash or credit card.

Luggage Storage Locations (Left Luggage)

Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport does not offer luggage storage or left luggage services. However, there are several luggage storage companies located near the airport that provide these services. Passengers can easily find these companies by searching online or asking for recommendations from airport staff.
